Yesterday was Little Girl's last day of school and today is the big girls' last day. Predictably, I'm a bit of a puddle. It's all a mammoth cliche and I know it, this bittersweet symphony, but oh do I feel it. What strikes me most, and most powerfully, is how big they are getting, how they are literally and metaphorically stretching out before my very eyes. I look at this picture - taken over Memorial Day Weekend - and I can't quite believe it. Where did my babies go?

I'm doing my best to keep the nostalgia in check, to hold it together during this time of transition, to welcome summer and its sweetness with open arms, but I will tell you this: it's hard. Beautiful and impossible and ever a privilege.

Congrats, my girls, on a wonderful school year. We are oh so proud.

Do you get nostalgic this time of year?
